PERMANENT RESEARCHERS
Dr. Agustin Mihi (PI)
Tenured researcher at ICMAB-CSIC
Google Scholar
Dr. Agustín Mihi obtained his PhD in Physics in 2008 from the Institute of Materials Science of Seville ICMS-CSIC. Agustín was honored with a Beckman postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (USA), a Marie Curie COFUND at ICFO and a Ramón y Cajal fellowship. He is experienced in the optical design, fabrication and characterization of large area photonic architectures that can be easily implemented in emerging optoelectronic devices to improve their performance. His group specializes in soft nanoimprinting lithography, which offers an inexpensive and simple pathway to exploit the optical properties of nanophotonic structures with unconventional materials and devices.
Dr. Maria Isabel Alonso

Dr. Maria Isabel Alonso is a staff research scientist at ICMAB-CSIC. She obtained her Dr. rer. Nat. from the University of Stuttgart in 1989 while working at the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research. She worked at the IMN-CSIC in Madrid until 1992 and the Paul-Drude Institute in Berlin until 1994. Her research interests span solid-state physics, nanoscience, and nanofabrication technology. Currently, her main areas of research aim at expanding the functionalities of modern semiconducting devices to empower different applications in the areas of optoelectronic, energy-related, and sensing devices.
Dr. Miquel Garriga
Research Scientist at ICMAB-CSIC

Dr. Miquel Garriga is a staff research scientist at ICMAB-CSIC. He obtained his Dr. rer. Nat. from the University of Stuttgart in 1990 with work at the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research. He worked at the IMN-CSIC in Madrid until 1992. His main research is on the use of optical spectroscopies to study optoelectronic properties of inorganic and organic materials. He develops multilayer and anisotropic models used to fit the measured ellipsometry and FTIR spectra. He uses commercial software to simulate the photonic and plasmonic nanostructures produced in the group with emphasis on chiral structures and their interaction with chiral materials.

Dr. Sunghwan Jo
Sunghwan obtained his Ph.D. degree in Micro/Nano Systems at Korea University, South Korea. He has been interested in fabricating a variety of functional micro/nanostructures for optical, and mechanical property enhancement by modifying conventional structures or combining them with nanomaterials.
Dra. Carlota Ruiz de Galarreta
I received my Hons M.Sc in Optical and imaging technologies in 2012 from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (Spain). After graduating, I started my career in industry working as an optical design and quality control engineer for several companies such as Escribano Mechanical & Engineering or Greenlight Solutions. During this period, I was involved in the design, tolerancing, and testing of imaging and non-imaging systems operating in the VIS-NIR, MWIR and LWIR for fusion energy diagnostics, as well as for industrial and defence applications.
